Ann Arbor man to spend up to 15 years in prison for restaurant armed robberies
The 22-year-old man who pleaded no contest last month to robbing two restaurants at gunpoint will spend up to 15 years in prison.
Michael James Kitto was sentenced Wednesday in the Washtenaw County Trial Court to serve 4.5-15 years in prison by Judge Archie Brown, with 126 days served.
Kitto pleaded no contest to two counts of armed robbery in a plea bargain. A count of assault with intent to rob while armed was dismissed at Wednesday's sentencing.
Kitto's attorney Joe Simon said his client has a long history of substance abuse issues and that "he hasn't been free for a long time." READ MORE at the link provided.
