State drops felony charges against officers with Downriver ties in auto inspections case
This is extraordinary, something that almost never happens.
That’s the way Ann Arbor-based attorney Joe Simon described the decision by the Michigan Attorney General’s Office to drop the case against four police officers with Downriver ties.
Gregory Bumgardner, 44, of Southgate; Tammy Barnes, 59, of Brownstown Township; and brothers John Greene, 43, of Wyandotte and Tim Greene, 42, of Romulus, were all facing multiple felony charges dating back to March 2018 pertaining to alleged improper salvage vehicle inspections.
